Glycolic Peel Bootcamp: How to Prep and Perfect Every Session

Chemical peels are the powerhouse of skincare, tackling uneven tone, rough texture, and stubborn acne scars head-on. Glycolic peels take it up a notch, melting away dead skin to unveil a fresh, radiant complexion. Beyond just surface-level results, they kickstart collagen production and supercharge product absorption, giving your clients' skin the reboot it craves. This six-session Glycolic Peel series isn’t just a treatment—it’s a game-changer. Here’s how you make every treatment count.

Professional Glycolic Treatment Series

This peel series works best when scheduled weekly for six consecutive weeks, repeated up to three times a year. It's essential to adjust each session to your client’s progress throughout the series. Only experienced estheticians familiar with Tuel products should perform this advanced treatment.

First and Second Treatments: Gentle Introduction

In the early sessions, the goal is to introduce the skin to the glycolic process.

  • Mix: 1 teaspoon of Enzyme Peel Exfoliating Mask, 1/3 teaspoon of Glycolic Solution, and 2/3 teaspoon water.
  • Application: Quickly apply the mixture to the face, neck, and décolleté, avoiding the eyelids and applying to the cheeks last.
  • Timing: Leave on for 2 to 7 minutes, adjusting based on the client’s skin thickness.
  • Tip: Use steam to keep the skin moist throughout, and rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Third and Fourth Treatments: Increasing Intensity

At this stage, the skin is ready for a more concentrated dose.

  • Mix: Increase the Glycolic Solution to 2/3 teaspoon, decreasing water to 1/3 teaspoon.
  • Application: Follow the same procedure as before, but do not extend the time.
  • Reminder: The goal is to build tolerance without overstressing the skin.

Fifth and Sixth Treatments: Maximum Impact

The final treatments in the series are designed to push results further.

  • Mix: 1 teaspoon of Glycolic Acid and 1 teaspoon of Enzyme Peel (no water).
  • Application:  Use professional judgment to adjust the duration based on the client’s comfort and skin response.
  • Tip:  Be mindful of skin thickness, comfort, and response to avoid over-exfoliation.

Talk to your clients about also incorporating peels into a regular at-home routine to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, and acne scars. Before starting a peel series, encourage your clients to prep their skin with Power Peel and Hydrate products for at least two weeks. This will ensure their skin is primed for the treatment and will yield the best results.
