Why Fall’s Favorite Fruit Is Also Good For The Skin
While apples are a lunchbox and grab and go staple (and they look great in a bowl on the counter in the salon too), fall’s queen of all fruits is also good for your skin. Read on and find out how apples offer some pretty beneficial solutions for a glowing face during the fall.
Those vitamins though…
Apples are full of nutrients that nourish and support healthy skin. Their high content of vitamin C builds collagen, plus copper helps the skin produce melanin which improves skin color.
Hydrates The Skin
The juice from apples, when applied to the face, can balance the oil production in the body, and is great for helping hydrate the skin. It can also be used as an exfoliant. If your clients’ skin is particularly dry during the fall, consider recommending they add a hydrating serum as well.
A is for Anti-aging
Studies show eating an apple on a regular basis can help with eliminating fine lines and wrinkles. Happen to have a few extra apples in the kitchen? Recommend rubbing grated apple peel on the skin as a gentle exfoliant. Leave on for 15 minutes and then rinse with cool water.
Lighten Up
Apples have the ability to brighten and lighten the skin due to the high content of collagen and elastin. Soothing powers also help relieve redness and flakiness that can often develop in the cooler months.
